A clip of a British gadgets show presenting some biosensors embedded into clothing and a gel called d3o that is normally malleable but, when impacted at a high acceleration, stays sturdy and maintains its shape.
Set Memory Fabric
Heres a video of set memory fabric in action. It uses Nitinol technology and changes due to electrical currents conducted from the fiber that is woven into the garment. There are many other links that show other examples of this technology.

DIY is saving design - motivation to work with your hands
In case you are a scanner and are easily bored, I snatched out the most important part of this article for you (it's at the end, and we often don't make it there...): "Neuroscientists have shown that working with your hands exercises different parts of your cerebrum than sitting and cogitating. Ever wonder why Detroit isn't producing 100-mpg cars? One reason might be that the engineers there spend all their time tinkering with CAD software — developing design concepts in a purely virtual sense. They aren't ripping open cars to see what's possible, the way those amateur ultra-mileage Prius hackers do (some of whom, by the way, have modded their hybrids to get 100 mpg)."

The Creepiest Head Up Display Ever
"The University of Washington's Babak Parviz has created a prototype "bionic" contact lens that creates a display over the wearer's visual field, so images, maps, data, etc., appear to float in midair. The lens works using tiny LEDs, which are powered by solar cells, and a radio-frequency receiver."
Just a little reminder about how to think correctly about future technologies. I have something in my eye... LEDs, solar cells, and a RF receiver!

Great for anyone designing something for the foot - I think that careful attention paid to the bottom of a shoe adds a lot of personality, thought, and character. This survey of clever shoe soles is courtesy of notcot, and actually features outer soles that remind me of Seung's project.
